The Animal Welfare Alliance of Central Florida (AWACF) meets once a month. We extend a welcome to shelters, rescues, county animal services, veterinarians and concerned citizens to join us in making "No More Homeless Pets" a reality in Central Florida. Meetings are open to all concerned citizens.

New Membership is: $20.00 annually.

Renewal Membership is: $15.00 annually.

With membership, you will receive our newsletter so that you may stay abreast of the important issues concerning homeless companion animals in our area and what is being done to save their lives.

The AWACF is an all volunteer, nonprofit 501 (C) 3 organization helping to stamp out pet overpopulation. All donations are tax deductible.

Lucky's Fund

Because AWACF, Inc. is not a rescue nor a shelter but recognizes the needs of individuals rescuing at risk animals on their own, we have established an emergency fund called Lucky's Fund. Lucky was a 6 month old pup left to die on the side of the road. He was diagnosed with distemper, but with special care and our veterinarian's skill he lived for fourteen years a beloved family member.

From time to time individuals coming across an animal in distress contact us asking for help because they don't know where else to turn. Such requests are primarily for strays or may even be for feral animals that are seriously injured or starving. Sometimes we simply direct the individual to a rescue group that will try to find an owner or take the animal and care for it. Sometimes the animal is injured and in need of immediate medical treatment. The individuals we speak of here we call silent heroes. Not knowing what step to take next or where it would ultimately lead, they stopped and got involved. Unlike rescue groups that depend on donations and adoption fees for operating funds, these silent heroes many times try to cover the cost of care the animal needs out of their own pocket. When they find they can't afford it without help, that's when they may contact us. Lucky's Fund will receive donations to assist the silent heroes and the animal at risk they are trying to help.
